My role and goal is to support you and your family emotionally, physically and informationally, so that you can have the birth that you desire, either at home or in a hospital.
- I meet with you twice during your last trimester. We'll get to know each other. We discuss your ideas, dreams, hopes, plans and fears. We ask and answer questions. We explore what information you need to best prepare you for the upcoming event. We also discuss the various coping techniques and strategies that you can use during your labor.
- I am available for email contact and consultation until your labor begins.
- I am available for 24 hour phone access as appropriate throughout your labor and birth.
- I follow-up via phone or in person within three weeks of your baby's birth, unless otherwise arranged. I can be a resource by email during your early days (weeks, sometimes years!) of parenthood.
